Wavumi Child Safety Standards
Last updated November 1, 2026
Our standards
Wavumi has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Wavumi is made by OPENIM CORPORATION LIMITED ("we"), and these standards apply to everything on it: messages, photos, videos, voice messages and files in chats, profiles, calls, the apps people make and apps on the plaza.
It is forbidden to use Wavumi to:
- make, share, ask for or link to sexual images or videos of anyone under 18, real or generated by AI
- groom, sexualise or sexually solicit a child, or arrange to meet a child for sexual purposes
- sextort or threaten a child, or traffic or advertise children for sexual purposes
- make apps, or ask Wavumi's AI for content, that does any of the above
Reporting in the app
In Wavumi, press and hold a message, or use the ••• menu on an app or a person, choose Report and pick Sexual content (or Something illegal). You can also block the person at once. Reports go to our team, not to the person you report.
You can also write to skiffer@openim.io. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
What we do
- We review every report within 24 hours, and child safety reports first.
- When we find CSAE or CSAM, we remove it, close the account of whoever posted it, take down their plaza apps and keep them from signing in again.
- We report CSAM and child exploitation to the relevant authorities as the law requires, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and we keep what the law requires us to keep for them.
- We cooperate with law enforcement investigations, as the law allows.
- Apps go through an automated check before they can reach the plaza, which refuses sexual content.
Who can use Wavumi
Wavumi isn't for children under 13 (see our Terms of Service). If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete it.
Laws
We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us in the places where Wavumi is offered.
Contact
Our child safety point of contact is reachable at skiffer@openim.io, and can speak about these standards and how we enforce them.
